Heron at Holmes
When I was shooting with the wide angle I about stepped on this guy, he flew up right in front of me and scared the daylights out of me. I watched where he landed and luckily I was able to get to the other side of the lake and he was still there. He was very intent on fishing and couldn't care less that I was taking his picture.

Morning Light at the Sunken Gardens
Kris and I went to the Gardens again today to catch some fresh morning light. We pretty much had to place to ourselves, what a wonderful way to start the day.

PM Photography
I went out with Kris to the Sunken Gardens and the Capitol to try photgraphing at night and to try out my new wide angle lens. Yipee!!! My poor brain was so confused by the end of the night but I had so much fun. I have lots of practice in my future with the wide angle but love it. We topped the night off with some pie and ice tea, what a great night.

A Morning with Kris at Holmes Lake and the Sunken Gardens
In the still of the morning... |
God's AMAZING creation! |
Interesting how this one turned out, looks like I did a selective color technique but I didn't! |
Coverted to B&W, with an Infared Filter |
Met Kris this morning at Holmes Lake and then we went over to the Sunken Gardens. We are so blessed to have so many beautiful parks. Every year they replant the Garden and it is alway different but absolutely gorgeous.

Wildlife Safari Park II
More from the park but these are from around the wetlands. Dan got some really great pictures of a muskrat that was putting on quite a show but mine were to far away. While we looking intensely at the water for anything and everything this Green Heron flew in, boy did we have a blast photographing it. It seemed to just pose for us.
Pelican- These birds just fascinate me, I loved how you can see the veining in the beak. |
Grasshopper - He looks like he is wearing armor! |
Green Heron |
Coming in for a close up |
Check out those feet! |
Did I remember deodorant? |

Our anniversary at the Wildlife Safari Park I
One of the park rangers had this Long Earred Owl named Babe. She was missing her right eye so was used for education. |
Sleepy Kitty or more commenly known Bobcat |
The Elk were trying to stay cool, in the other pond there were about 15. It was a little cramped! |
