Spring Flowers at Peggy's

Peggy invited Cathy and I to stay after bible study to photograph her flowers.  It was pretty breezy out but I managed to get a few images by shooting in manual with a high shutter speed to stop any movement I was getting.

Sheldon & Taz

We had two models at our photo forum tonight, Kris brought her new puppy Sheldon and Jim brought his dog Taz.  They were great models and behaved excellently.

Roses in a Bowl

Found this bowl while we were junking in K.C. for only a dollar, couldn't pass it up to add to my still life props.  Some faux flowers from Hobby Lobby and a couple textures from my vast collection.

Seattle 2010

I have been going through my photos and cleaning them up but I got a little sidetracked when I came to the Seattle file.  I would love to go back for an extended time since we only had 24 hours there.  Not sure which I like better the color or b&w, they both have their merits.

5 Zone B&W

I watched a tutorial by Mark Wallace on the zone method of processing your B&W images and decided to give his technique a try. This technique was mastered by Ansel Adams and had 11 zones but this method worked basically with 5.  I was inspired to try it on one of my images from the Pow Wow we went to last summer after seeing Dave Black do a Native American print in sepia.  The bright, contrast of colors actually lend themselves well to a B&W image.
