"According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible." Believe in the Creator and what He says you can be!!!

Silence
When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence. - Ansel Adams

Who Knew Turtles/Dinosaurs Grow On Trees!
It had been a couple of weeks since I went out with my camera so went to the Sunken Gardens. I started warming up with a couple shots of the trees, the soft greens and fruit on them were interesting but I didn't realize how interesting until I got home and looked at them on the computer! When you zoom in on the 2nd one it reminds me of a baby turtle or dino (because I've seen so many baby dino's) LOL

Dancing in the Breeze
It was quite windy so macro work wasn't going to happen, so I decided to make lemonade out of lemons and try to get a little artsy instead.

Bursting with Color
The Sunken Garden tulips bed are bursting with color right now, it is a little deceiving though when you see the size of the garden and then the size of the tulip area, they really are not that large an area. The more I use my wide angle the more I am falling in love with it!

Purple Glow
I revisited some photos from this summer to work on for a presentation I was doing for photo forum on textures. So not my comfort level but I survived the presentation and enjoyed working the images.

Sunken Gardens Photo Forum
Monday night the forum met at the Sunken Gardens, it was a beautiful evening with little humidity for a change! I didn't take a lot of images but worked with the extension tubes on my 70-200, I think I am really going to like having these as an additional tool but again a lot more practice needed. I really feel it helped me to understand my lens much better since I was having to learn it's capabilities with and without, something I hadn't spent enough time on before.

Sunny Days
It has been at least a month since I have played with layers and textures on an image and let me say I have missed it and realize how quickly I can loose what ever little bit of knowledge I was starting to grasp. Repetition is the key to this old dog being able to remember what and how and I need to not go so long in between projects or it is like starting over again at this point. While I like the bright saturated colors of the original, I went for a more subtle tone on my textured image, I guess that is why it is called art.

First Stop at the Sunken Gardens for 2015
I stopped at the gardens the beginning of the week to see what was blooming. The tulips unfortunately had taken a beating a couple nights before and were just sticks and the few iris's weren't in much better shape. It is always so much fun to see the garden come to life as the summer progresses though and I can't wait to see what they plant this year. Not sure what these flowers are and I didn't find a marker describing them, I will have to do a little research.

Warm thoughts...
I am trying to think warm thoughts this cold morning, yes I know it is winter in Nebraska but I sure am looking forward to spring. I took this photo last summer at the Sunken Gardens and came across this quote the other day on Pinterest and thought the two were a perfect match.

Another Morning at the Sunken Gardens
I met Kris and Margaret at the Sunken Gardens today and got a few images, I was hoping to get some dragonfly's but no such luck. The Garden is looking so great this year, the rain fall and cooler temperatures have been such a blessing.

Evening at the Sunken Gardens
We met with our forum at the Gardens and had a great time catching up with people, it was a beautiful night and we had a really good turn out. I should of gotten my tripod out but was too lazy and paid the consequences with less than satisfactory images.

Finally...
I got my new macro lens over 6 weeks ago and finally took it out on it's maiden run. Love the lens but the user needs to think things thru and make sure she has the settings right but hopefully things will settle down and I can get out more and practice with it.

Floyd & Judy
I was blessed to have the opportunity to take some photos for a couple at church who will celebrate their 50th anniversary. We went to the Sunken Gardens and had a great time.
