Be Careful With Your Words

I was inspired by an online bible study I am doing with this quote and had this image on my laptop so while Dan is in class I decide to play with it.  God's word just comes to life to me through images, so many times I will see something and a scripture or spiritual thought comes to mind immediately. Unfortunately it is usually something I need to be working on, this is one of those moments!

Grandma's Mixer & Flour Sifter

Our photo assignment was manual and I remembered Dan had brought home his grandma's manual mixer when they moved his parents this summer.  I have had the sifter since when his grandma moved out of her home almost 30 years ago, so who knows how old these item are.

Tilt Shift Effect with Textures

I used textures and processed in OnOne. I was inspired by a blog featured on Flickr and so tried some tilt shift work on this image also.

Psalm 13:5

I love still life photography and want to work on it this winter, there is such an art to balancing color, shapes, textures and such.  We have a lovely store here that has lots of items that lend themselves well to this type of photography and Dan surprised me with some pieces and so I decided to work with them today.  I am addicted at the moment to the textures also, so it was inevitable that I would combine the two!

Miss Tess

After reading and watching some tutorials I tried some new things.  You are able to make adjustment levels on the texture overlays, so I used two adjustment levels adjusting the curves and hue/saturation.  Not sure if I am doing it all correctly but I happy with the results.

Saucy

I guess I was inspired by having spaghetti tonight.  This is an image from Bread and Cup that I took a couple of years ago and really liked but decided to see what I artistic touch I could ad to it.  I feel like I am learning how to navigate between LR, OnOne and Photoshop much better now and have learned several new techniques and short cuts along the way.

New Sunflare Texture

I just downloaded a new sun flare texture and thought I would give it a try.  I had this photo from 2010 of a little girl that I took at an old fashion thrashers harvest and thought it would play nice with the texture. It is fun to be able to use some of my older, jpeg images and make them into something a little artsy fartsy.  Now to see if I can find some textures of snow I like, much warmer sitting at the computer and adding it to an image! LOL  Kris I know will think that is cheating.

Brody as a Canvas

Playing with another image from earlier this fall, again I am working in PSE and just trying to figure out how to navigate the panels.

Textures in PSE

I thought I would try working on an older photo using Photoshop Elements.  Even though the terminology is the same as OnOne the effects I got were quite different.  I need to do more comparisons to see if it is user error or if they do not respond the same.
