Simple Pleasures
Last month we were to photograph simple pleasures for our photo forum, with everything going on with Dad I didn't post these and thought I would remember them here. Dad always liked it when I had photos of old farming equipment. The day was such a beautiful, crisp, fall day and I went driving in the country and came across these wagons in a field. I'm not sure why I am drawn to the abandon, rusty things but I think it reminds me how temporary life is and that those material things do not matter but relationships do. Unfortunately, our society has adopted this attitude towards people also. When things get tough or relationships get hard we toss people and our relationships away. The worn wood and patina of the metal is like the wrinkles and scars we develop over time but there is still beauty in it and life stories that need to be remembered.
