A Sure Sign of Spring
A sure sign of spring is all the Irises that are starting to blossom. I was able to find several beds around neighborhoods and with all the overcast skies we have had it made for a giant soft box and the colors are just popping. I love how sturdy their stems are but then the petal are so delicate.

Dancing in the Breeze
It was quite windy so macro work wasn't going to happen, so I decided to make lemonade out of lemons and try to get a little artsy instead.

Bursting with Color
The Sunken Garden tulips bed are bursting with color right now, it is a little deceiving though when you see the size of the garden and then the size of the tulip area, they really are not that large an area. The more I use my wide angle the more I am falling in love with it!

The original "goose" from Top Gun
I know they are only geese but they are so graceful when flying by. Hand holding the 150-600 still is quite a struggle but I am getting better at it.

Sunrise on the Barn
Nothing like first light on an old Nebraska barn. What a perfect start to a wonderful day with Dan, he took a day off to spend it with me, our cameras, driving country roads and visiting several state parks.

Easy, Breezy, Grungy, Dark
Our assignment was street photography and behind the scene so we were walking the alley when I was drawn to this door. I love the juxtapose of the run down, tired, heavy doorway with the light, embroidered curtain blowing in the breeze. It also seems to be an invitation to come in while the other door has a No Trespassing sign on it.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Still in the coffee shop and I could of photographed these floors for hours, I plan on making my own textures out of these images for future use on other projects. The possibilities are endless with manipulation of split toning, hue and saturation.
Speaks to me
On our photo walk we walked by this coffee shop and I decided to go in and see if it was ok to take a few photos inside. I was in love with how the light was playing off the chairs and the beautiful shadows that were being cast. On my black and white conversions I added a little split toning but other than that everything is pretty straight forward.

Photo Walk
Dan and I went on a photo walk yesterday with a group from our forum and some others. Matt has had the walk for several years but this was the first one we have been on. We had a blast hanging out with like minded photographers, enjoying an absolutely beautiful day and then finished up having a great time sharing a meal together and reviewing our photos.
