Birds have wings and can fly!
Kris and I went to Mahony to get our park passes and for me to practice with the 100-400 photographing birds. Whew, what a hot mess! I think I need to stun them with a bb gun first and then see if I can get a decent photo of one. I need lots of practice for sure. I did get to see my first American Cassarole or what some birders call a Kestrel.

Paiton's 9th Birthday Party
Well this day I sucked at photography! Never fails when it is a special occasion is when all brain cells disappear. It was a terrible lighting situation, so I cracked the ole ISO up to 6400, used flash in aperature instead of manual and have yuck for photos but it is what it is and I will chalk it up to another lesson learned. She had blast and that is what really matters.

Lauritzen Gardens
Kris and I went to the gardens for my birthday and to practice with my 70-200. We worked on isolation and dof. I was like a drunk sailor on a ship trying to balance with the monopod, focus with the backbutton and pushing the shutter in one fluid move. NOT! We then went to Blair for the yummiest tacos ever, it was a wonderful day!

Dad
Dad is 82 and has entered a different stage of life. It has been very hard for him to realize he is forgetting more and more things and hard for us to see him so sad.

The end of 2010 at the Lauritzen Gardens - Omaha Botanical Center
Dan and I went to the Gardens to practice using our cameras. What a beautiful place to practice, went ahead a got a membership as I am sure I will be making several trips there. The Christmas display was still up but next month they will feature a Tropical Paradise, looking forward to seeing that.
