Winnebago Pow Wow Part II
The workmanship and artistry of the costumes was exquisite and as the sun set and the lights came on they sparkled like jewels. It was pretty spectacular, I can only imagine the hours it took to make some of them. You would see some of them, both male and female, sewing on beads or feathers while waiting in the stands for their turn to preform.

148th Winnebago Pow Wow
Dan and I went to Winnebago to the Indian Pow Wow, something I have wanted to do for a long time and it was everything I hoped it would be plus and so much more. There were over 1000 dancers from several different tribes and states. The costumes were beyond gorgeous and the traditions of the families and love being passed down was so evident. Throughout the evening they had competitions in the different types of dance and in the tribal drums and singing. What an experience, one we will never forget!

Holmes Lake
Went out to Holmes Lake but things were pretty quite and not much going on. I went out early and there weren't even any diehard fishermen out. Found a few flowers but even they were pretty sparse.

Another Morning at the Sunken Gardens
I met Kris and Margaret at the Sunken Gardens today and got a few images, I was hoping to get some dragonfly's but no such luck. The Garden is looking so great this year, the rain fall and cooler temperatures have been such a blessing.
The Koi swimming made for an interesting background. |

How can he already hate the camera!!!
I can't believe how much he already hates the camera, every time I pull it out he starts to pucker up and tears well up in his eyes. No matter how many faces, noises and making a fool of myself I try there is no getting him to smile. Grandma and Jax's are going to have to have a long talk about this!
