Florals & Flash
Still trying to learn how to use my flash off camera, we have been going over it photo forum and I wanted to try some of the things they have covered. I am able to get the look I want sometimes but nothing consistently and I never know exactly what I am doing for sure. It has been more enjoyable this go around and I haven't felt like I was going to hyperventilate yet so that is progress.

An Appealing Portrait
Our inspiration point this week at photo forum was flash photography, not so much inspiration for me but a great time for me to practice my word of the year and be "bold" and try new things, do not compare and be adventuresome. I am ok with the photo but frustrated in the lack of understanding of what I am doing but will continue to practice and learn. I bounced my gridded off camera flash off of the ceiling and added light painting through the viewfinder to highlight the orange.

Jaxson is Growing Up
Wow, it has been awhile since I have gotten to take any photos of Jaxson since I don't babysit any more. I can't believe how much he is growing up, he doesn't look like a baby anymore when comparing this to some of the older photos but he sure is looking like his daddy. Two haircuts and he still has all these curls, I hope they never go away!

Braydon & Papa Choo Choo
These two have such a special connection and I love seeing them together. I think because Brooke and Braydon came to live in Lincoln when Bud deployed the first time and Braydon was so young (6months maybe) and that Papa was there all the time they really bonded. Not sure which I prefer, color or black and white.

How can he already hate the camera!!!
I can't believe how much he already hates the camera, every time I pull it out he starts to pucker up and tears well up in his eyes. No matter how many faces, noises and making a fool of myself I try there is no getting him to smile. Grandma and Jax's are going to have to have a long talk about this!

Light Painting
I added my interpretation on this weeks Photo Forum assignment. Our topics were light painting and unconventional and our colors are pink or red. I try to think outside the box! LOL

Birthday Flowers
Dan brought me home some beautiful flowers for my birthday and gave them to me early so I could play around and photograph them over the weekend.

New Year - Another go at using my flash
I think I have Alzheimer's of the photo world when it comes to using my flash because no matter how any times Kris has tried to help me and all the numerous videos I have watched it just doesn't click but once again I am giving it the old college try.

Joni & Terry
We had a great time with our dear friends Joni and Terry Stewart from Illinois. Joni and I became friends when we moved there 17 years ago and just clicked.

Paiton
Paiton is here for Easter and her and I went out to Holmes for awhile since it was such a beautiful day. We had such a good time and she loves being in front of the camera. Practiced with the flash but had grabbed the wrong lens on, oh well better next time.

Tess & Thor
| Trying to howl like Thor |
| Sounding like a hound dog |
Bud, Brooke and Braydon came for Christmas and brought their beagle Thor. Little Miss Tess was not at all thrilled but was a little more tolerant as the week end progressed. Practicing with my flash, I don't think it is ever going to click but I will keep plugging along.

Braydon
Braydon got some new clothes for pre-school and wanted to show off his swag. He is getting so big and loves going to school and shopping.

For Sale
Kris and Darwin, Robert, Dan and I had a wonderful morning shooting the Rusty Relics that are going to be sold off. Worked with using off camera flash with a snood, I really need to learn my flash and that is my goal for the next year. We ended our morning with a delishes breakfast at Mimi's, nothing beats spending a day with such great friends.

Photography Fun in Muscatine, Iowa
Kris had a photography class scheduled in Iowa and invited Cathy and I to accompany her there and we had a blast. We met 5 incredibly fun, talented photographers and had 2 days of "photo boot camp". I don't remember when I have had so much fun and learned tons also. These are a few photos from the weekend.

Wild Week of Photography
What a wild weekend it was for photographing. Friday I went from an outing at the nursing home with Dad to a birthday party for Dante. Sunday I went from a soccer game for Dominic to Dad's 83rd birthday party and Monday I was out shooting for my summer project witht the New Cov Forum. I was shooting in aperature and manual, flash and natural light, color and then black and white. There were times I thought my head would explode but I survived and here are a few of my images.
