Goldenrod

"The fragrance and the color and the form, and the whole spiritual expression of goldenrods are hopeful and strength-giving beyond any other flowers that I know. A single spike is sufficient to heal unbelief and melancholy." ~ John Muir

Weighing In

One of the treasures Dan was able to inherit from his Mom after he and his siblings were there one weekend to help go through some things in storage was this old vintage scale.  I have been wanting one of these for such a long time and to have come from the family makes it all the more special.  I have lots of ideas for this piece that is for sure.  While I like the  straight out of camera image I couldn't help but play with it using some textures, two different versions which gives it a complete different feel.

Paths of Color

It seems I was drawn to paths leading me into the color, whether it was the gold's and greens, or the bright oranges, yellows with a touch of red.  There is a mystery about them I think, never knowing for sure where they go or what you might find around the bend.

A Little Artsy Fartsy

You either love it or hate it, it seems.  Dan is not on board with this technique at all but I am enjoying some of the effects, it reminds me of a painting.

God is so Amazing!

God is so amazing, it is beyond words to comprehend  sometimes the artistry we try to capture with our cameras.  He must just laugh at us for even trying but I hope He knows the immense pleasure he has given us by allowing us just a glimpse of his glorious creation.

Hurricane Falls

We came across this great landmark the first time we vacationed in Tennessee several years ago and wanted to make sure we saw it again but this time with our cameras.  This is actually part of the Loretta Lynn ranch, her home and replica of the log cabin is there also plus several other bunk houses that are used for the dude ranch operations.  The mill in the fall is just gorgeous.  It has been fun going through some of my older images but I sure am looking forward to some warmer weather and getting the camper ready for some new adventures!

Fall Foliage

Kris let me borrow her 100L macro lens and I am in love with it.  The colors are just yummy and the bokeh is also.
